Having a legal basis (e.g. consent) to send emails using Mailtrack´s services is a requirement under GDPR for European contacts. Additionally, Mailtrack users must be able to provide proof of such legal basis for the processing of the email recipient´s data processing when requested.
Regardless of any other legal basis, sending a consent request allows you to ensure that you have the legitimacy to send emails to such recipients and decreases the likelihood of recipients marking your emails as spam.
To send a consent request, follow these steps:
- Select a recipient in the Contacts section.
- Navigate to the "Profile" area.
- Use the "Send Consent Request" button (see image below).
The recipient will receive an email asking them to confirm their permission, and the consent status section will be updated according to the recipient's response.
