Change to a different plan
To change your plan (for example, from Mailtrack to Mailsuite), click the Upgrade button at the top of your dashboard, or in Settings & account > Subscription, and choose the plan you want. You can also compare plans on our pricing page.
What you pay when you upgrade
When you upgrade, you don't pay the full price of the new plan on top of what you've already paid. We take off the part of your current plan that you haven't used yet.
Will I be charged the full price of the new plan?
No. You pay the price of the new plan minus a credit for the time left on your current plan. For example, if you have half a year left, you get back half of what you paid. If you got a discount on your current plan, the credit takes it into account.
On your invoice, the credit appears as a separate line with a negative amount: Unused time on [your current plan] after [date].
This works the same way whether you pay by card or with PayPal.
Note: if the payment for your current billing period is still pending or has failed, you don't get a credit for that period.
How much will I pay today?
You'll see the exact amount before you pay. The upgrade page shows:
- The price of the new plan
- The credit for your current plan, as a negative amount
- Taxes, if any
- The Upgrade cost, which is the amount you'll pay
The button also shows the final amount (Upgrade for [amount]). Nothing is charged until you click it.
If your credit is more than the cost of the new plan, the rest is kept as a balance on your account and used for your next renewals.
When will my subscription renew?
Your billing period starts again on the day you upgrade. A yearly plan renews one year after the upgrade, and a monthly plan one month after. You'll see the date on the upgrade page (Renews on [date]) before you pay.
Change from monthly to yearly billing
You can always increase the length of your subscription, for example from Monthly to Yearly. You get a credit for the unused part of your current month, in the same way as described above, and your yearly plan renews one year after the change.
If you're already on the Mailsuite plan, the Upgrade buttons don't appear in your dashboard. Go straight to the upgrade page and choose the yearly option.
If you pay with PayPal
If you pay with PayPal, you can change your plan or billing period in the same way. Some older subscriptions paid with PayPal can't be changed online, though: if you get an error when you try, contact us at upgrade@mailsuite.com and we'll make the change for you.
What you can't change
You can't shorten the length of your subscription, for example from Yearly to Monthly. It's also not possible to change from a paid plan to Free.
If you'd like a shorter subscription period, wait until the billing period of your current subscription ends and then buy a new subscription for the period you want. We recommend that you cancel your subscription's automatic renewal and then start a new subscription with your desired period.
