Adding multiple recipients in the BCC field is a common method marketers use to send mass emails. However, this method poses several risks, such as:
- The email can seem impersonal: The recipient may think it's a mass email.
- The email may not land in the inbox: Emails often don’t end up in the recipient’s main inbox.
- The email can be ignored: This translates into low open rates and even fewer replies.
- Threads can become messy: Different conversations with different people in the same thread.
This is where Mailsuite’s Split feature comes in handy. This feature allows you to transform a mass email where all recipients are in the BCC field into a group of personalized and individually-tracked emails. There are several advantages to sending with this method:
- Personalization: The recipients feel the email is addressed to them personally.
- More likely to land in inbox: Emails sent individually usually have a higher deliverability rate.
- More likely to get attention: Enjoy higher open rates and more replies with one-to-one emails.
- Split into individual conversations: Create different threads for different conversations to make individual conversations easier to follow.
Similar to this method, you can also choose to send a Mailsuite Campaign. Campaigns can be sent to up to 10,000 recipients.

How does email tracking work for Split emails?
When you send a Split into individual copies email, a tracked copy of the email is sent to each individual recipient. What this means is that there will be as many individual emails in your Sent folder as recipients in the email.
This allows you to track the individual opens for the email. Each tracked copy will have the same notifications configured in your composer as a regular email.
What do recipients see?
Recipients will not be able to see details of the other recipients that were sent the Split email. They'll just see who's the sender, plus their own contact details in the To field. This ensures you don’t inadvertently share any email addresses with other recipients.
