If you try to send a campaign and receive a message saying that Campaigns have been disabled because your bounce rate exceeds a certain threshold, this is an automatic protection measure and not a manual account restriction.
A high bounce rate usually means that you have been sending emails to invalid or no-longer-active addresses, often because of a low-quality recipient list or contacts obtained from an unreliable third party. Since anti-spam policies from providers like Gmail are strict, continuing to send to invalid addresses puts your email account at risk of being blocked, so Campaigns are temporarily disabled to protect your account and the wider email service.
While Campaigns are disabled, you can still send individual emails and group emails (using CC or BCC) normally. To get Campaigns reactivated:
- Send emails only to valid, active email addresses.
- Avoid sending to old or unverified lists that may contain invalid addresses.
- Continue sending to valid addresses so that your bounce rate gradually decreases.
Once your bounce rate has dropped sufficiently, Campaigns will be automatically reactivated. There is no fixed timeframe for this, as it is calculated automatically based on your previous bounce rate and the volume of new valid emails you send.
