This guide covers the Gmail add-on, which puts Mailtrack inside the official Gmail app. If you'd rather use a standalone app — automatic tracking on every email, push notifications and tablet support — see Mailtrack for iPhone and Android.
Before you start: Google's Gmail add-ons don't run on iPad, Android tablets or a Samsung Fold Z in tablet mode. The add-on also needs Mailtrack installed in Chrome on your computer. The Mailtrack app has neither limitation.
Please follow these instructions to install the Mailtrack Add-on for Gmail on your Android/iOS device:
1) Open the Mailtrack add-on page in the Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) Marketplace in Chrome, either on your desktop computer or your phone.
2) Click "install". You should then see a pop-up like the one below. Click continue to go ahead with the installation.
3) Select the email account you want to use to use with Mailtrack.
4) Click "allow" to accept the permissions.
5) If the installation has been successful, you should get a confirmation message.
6) Restart the Gmail app on your phone. When you do this, be sure to close the app entirely and open it again. If you're unsure about how to close the Gmail app completely, we recommend switching off your phone before switching it back on again and starting the app.
