After you install Mailtrack and begin to send tracked emails, we recommend enabling notifications so you can know exactly when someone interacts with your message. Mailtrack has notifications for all of the following:
- Email opens (what this article covers)
- Link clicks
- Attached document views
- Follow-up reminders
- Conversation revivals
- Reports: Daily reports, productivity reports, and campaign reports
How to enable email open notifications
There are two ways to enable email open notifications: from your dashboard or directly in your Gmail inbox.
In your dashboard
- In your dashboard, click the gear icon at the top right to open Settings & account, then click Notifications. You can also go straight to your notification settings.
- Check the box in the Email column next to when the email is opened. You can also check the box in the Desktop column to get a real-time desktop notification. Changes are saved automatically.
In Gmail, for a single email
- In the Gmail compose window, click the Mailsuite button next to Send.
- Under Notify me by, make sure the email tab is selected and check when the email is opened. You can also enable other notifications from this menu.
- Click Send to send your tracked email.
How to turn off email open notifications
To turn off all email notifications, visit the notifications settings page and follow these steps:
- Go to Settings & account > Notifications.
- In the Email column, uncheck when the email is opened. The change is saved automatically.
Please note that if you disable email open notifications, you may still receive email notifications for tracked emails that you sent prior to disabling the feature. Changes to your notification settings only apply to newly sent emails and are not retroactive.
How email open notifications work
Mailsuite sends an email notification only for the first open of a tracked email. Subsequent opens of the same email do not trigger additional notification emails. This is intended behavior and cannot be adjusted.
There are no cooldown periods, frequency limits, or quiet hours that affect when notification emails are delivered.
