There are two ways to use Mailtrack depending on your device:
- The Mailtrack Chrome browser extension.
- The Mailtrack mobile add-on (available for iPhone and Android devices)
The Mailtrack Chrome browser extension tracks email sent from your desktop device in the Chrome browser. To use Mailtrack on any device, you must always have the browser extension installed.

The Mailtrack mobile add-on tracks emails sent from your phone's Gmail app. You can install it on your device from the Google Workspace Marketplace.
⚠️ The mobile add-on won't work unless you also have the browser extension installed.
Differences between the Mailtrack browser extension and the Mailtrack mobile add-on
The Mailtrack browser extension:
- Works in Gmail on your computer.
- Can be installed in the Chrome web browser.
- Has all the features that your plan includes. (See which features are included in each plan)
- Doesn't need the Mailtrack mobile add-on to be installed in order to work.
- Has email tracking enabled by default.
- Tracks additional activity, such as link clicks, attachment opens, and more.
The Mailtrack mobile add-on:
- Works within the Gmail app on your phone (iPhone or Android).
- Tracks email opens and shows tracking history on your mobile device.
- Requires the Mailtrack browser extension to be installed on your computer.
- Does not have email tracking enabled by default. You need to enable tracking on your mobile for each email you send.
All tracking capabilities are available when you use the Mailtrack browser extension. To help you track emails on the go, we released the mobile add-on. Keep in mind that the mobile add-on’s tracking capability is limited to email opens.
Important: Remember that the Mailtrack mobile add-on only works if you have the Mailtrack browser extension installed on your computer!
How to Get Email Tracking and Other Features for Desktop
It’s very easy to install the Mailtrack extension. All you need to do is install it on your Chrome browser from the Chrome Web Store. If you’d like a step-by-step walkthrough of the process, read more here.
For all accounts, Mailtrack offers free and unlimited email tracking. If you wish to access additional features, you can consider upgrading your account on the Mailsuite pricing page. Some of the features available in paid subscriptions include link click tracking, PDF attachment tracking and signing, email bounce detection, and sending email campaigns to up to 10,000 recipients.
How to Enable Email Tracking for Mobile (iPhone and Android)
In addition to the Mailtrack extension, you can also install the Mailtrack mobile add-on from the Google Workspace Marketplace. Remember, you must have the Mailtrack extension installed on your desktop for the mobile add-on to work.
Once installed, you can send tracked emails from your mobile device. By default, Mailtrack tracks all emails you send from your desktop. On mobile, however, you need to enable tracking for each individual email. You can also view your email’s full tracking history on mobile.
