When you install Mailsuite, you can enable or disable different notifications and alerts to suit your needs. One of the most popular notifications in Mailsuite is follow-up reminders. These reminders let you know if someone hasn't opened or replied to your email within a set amount of time (24, 48 or 72 hours), so you can restart or continue the conversation with your recipients.

You can enable follow-up reminders directly in Gmail or in your Mailsuite dashboard.

How to enable follow-up reminders in Gmail

There are two ways you can enable follow-up reminders when you're in Gmail. The first way is to do so while you're writing the email:

  1. Open a new email by clicking Compose.
  2. In the compose window, click the Mailsuite button next to Send.
  3. Under Notify me by, make sure the email tab is selected and check the reminders you want: if the email is not opened within…, if no reply is received within…, or both.

Another option is to enable a follow-up reminder right after you send a tracked email:

  1. From your Gmail inbox, send a tracked email with Mailsuite.
  2. After you send the email, a pop-up message will appear in the bottom left-hand side of your screen. Click Monitor reply.

After that, Mailsuite will send you a follow-up reminder if the recipient doesn't open or reply to your email. In the reminder email, you can also snooze the reminder for another 24, 48 or 72 hours, or disable it.

How to enable follow-up reminders by default

You can enable or disable follow-up reminders by default in your Mailsuite dashboard, and choose the intervals for them:

  1. In your dashboard, click the gear icon at the top right to open Settings & account, then click Notifications.
  2. Next to if the email is not opened within and if no reply received within, choose the time you want and check the box in the Email column. Changes are saved automatically.

Once you complete these steps, follow-up reminders will be enabled by default on all future tracked emails you send from your Gmail account. You can update your preferences at any time.

These reminders are available on all plans (Free, Mailtrack and Mailsuite).
